Hi all!
I've spent the past few days engrosed in the code that makes the site work. And it's flipping complicated! (If you didn't already know I didn't design the software the site runs, which makes it difficualt to change things without buggering everything up) But I've managed to add some new little features to the home page of the site. I'll let you know what I've changed althuogh I'm sure your not that bothered.
1. The random pic block now loads the photo quicker and displays a bigger thumb of the picture. And you can now not only just view the pic that is displayed in the block by clicking on it, but there is now also a link to the gallery category the the photo is in just below the photo name.
2. You can now see the last 5 comments posted in the gallery, and click on a link to see the photo for yourself! (With over 600 photos it would be hard to find the pic's that people have commented on!)
3. And last but not leased you can now view the lastest 10 posts made in the forum on the homepage, and get a link direct to the post and user profile of the message writer.
The next thing I'm going to attempt is a user menu on the homepage, so you can see things like: who else is online, is you have any private messages, etc. But this one is a LOT more complicated than the others so it'll take a while. I need to tweak the last forum posts feature to so that it is a little more customised to fit users needs.
So if the site goes down for a while u know why! It's because I'm playing.
